If clients wish to cancel their order after I have already started the artwork, please note that we only issue refunds in exceptional circumstances, rather than as a matter of policy. Refunds are not available if you simply change your mind. Refunds, or exchanges can be given where goods are faulty, wrongly described or different to what was ordered. By submitting an order form, either electronically or by post you are agreeing that The Renaissance Pet retains the full copyright and licensing rights to the artwork we produce from your photograph(s), thereby allowing us to use the artwork in any way we see fit for an indefinite period of time. This includes: Granting us permission for a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable and sub-licensable right and license to reproduce, distribute, publish, transmit, modify, adapt, print, display, distribute, prepare derivative works based upon and otherwise use your Photograph(s); Irrevocably granting permission to us to use the Photograph(s) (and the images and content therein), in whole or in part, on the Site and in print and electronic or any other media and to edit, combine with other material and make derivative works of same, in whole or in part, without notifying you and without obligation to you; Certifying and acknowledging that you own the Photograph(s) or have the legal right (permission) to permit us and the Site to use, edit or publish and otherwise use the Photograph/s without obligation or liability to any other third party; Representing and warranting that if any minors appear in the Photograph(s), you are the mother, father or duly appointed guardian of such child(ren) or have the irrevocable permission of the parents or duly appointed guardian(s) of such child(ren) to grant the rights set forth herein to us on behalf of such minor(s) and will indemnify us in the event of this representation proving to be false or misleading in any respect. Clients who do not wish their commissioned artwork to be shown on my website/blog or other social media associated with this business must notify us when ordering. All content included on the Site, such as, but not limited to, images, text, graphics and logos, are our property and are protected by international copyright laws. The purchase of any Artwork does not provide you with any copyright interest or other intellectual property right to the Artwork.

By sending me photograph(s) of your pet you are confirming that you either own the copyright to the photograph(s) or have gained permission and/or a license from the the copyright owner to grant me a license to use the photograph(s) for producing your Pet Portrait from and in advertising material for an indefinite period of time. Further, in sending me the photograph(s), either electronically or by post, you agree to indemnify me against any costs arising from claims made against me by persons claming to own the copyright.

All of my pet portraits are fully insured during delivery. In the unlikely event that a portrait is damaged in transit, please contact me immediately. Provide photo evidence of the damaged work to receive a replacement. As long as clear evidence of the damage is provided I will provide a replacement portrait completely free of charge.

Your financial information is not stored by us, your payment is processed by our secure payment gateway. The Renaissance Pet online store uses industry standard encrypion to protect the confidentiality of the information you submit during the checkout. When you submit your order and payment to us, we use a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect that information in transit. With SSL technology, the web address starts with “https://” instead of “http://”to indicate your information is encrypted during transmission.

Yes! You can ask for any special requests and we’ll do our best to make your portrait exactly the way you want it. In some instances we are not able to make big changes - for example, we cannot close your dog's mouth if the photo you provide is of your pet with their toungue hanging out. It is also rare that we are able to change the color of the background in the painting. Don't hesitate to ask for whatever customizations you want and we will be upfront with you if we can or cannot make the adjustments.

Sure! Instead of a dog or cat we’re happy to make a Renaissance portrait of your child, partner, mom, dad, etc… You can also have us make a portrait with a pet and an owner together. Choose Multiple Pet Portraits for this option.

Yes! As long as the painting does not have copyright restrictions feel free to suggest any painting. Typically, 70 years after an artist dies the work goes into the public domain and we can use it. If you do want a painting that is not one of our existing listings you'll need to order THIS LISTING which includes an extra set-up fee of $40 to create the new template.

Once we receive your order and your valid uploaded images we will have a preview ready for you within 3-5 business days. Once all final changes and requested edits are complete and you have confirmed the final preview we'll print and ship your order within 1-2 days of you approving your artwork. What is most important is that the image is not blurry, fuzzy or pixilated, and that there is good lighting on the pet and that it is an unobstructed view of their face. You can always send me a few images and I’ll let you know if they work or not. See our guide HERE for examples of good and bad photos.

Unfortunately Not. Making your preview is the bulk of the artistic work – this is part of what you are paying for. But once you order you’ll receive a preview within 3-5 business days and we are happy to make any changes you request till you are satisfied with the final piece.

Yes – In order to do that we preferably ask you to use the uploader to send in additional photo close-ups of your pet’s paws. If you aren't able to do that we do have stock photos of cat paws and dog paws that we will use.

We have standard size options that you will see in the drop-down menu when you order. These include 8×10″ 12×18″, 16×24″, 24×36″, 32x48" and 40x60". If you need a special custom size please contact us and we’ll see if we can accomodate your special size request.

Yes! I love to make portraits of all kinds of exotic pets. I've had the pleasure of making parrot portraits, cockatiels, horses, ferrets, rats, squirrels and even a bearded dragon! I would be delighted to work with your unusual animal requests!

The difference between the wrapped canvas and the photo-paper: Photo-paper is a flat artwork printed on archival quality photo-paper. Unfortunately we do not currently offer a gift wrapping service. However, all of our portraits come sealed in opaque protective packaging. So the surprise won't be ruined upon delivery!

Our pet portraits make the most unforgetable Christmas gifts! Currently, we advise ordering no later than December 10th for delivery by Christmas. Our Christmas cut-off dates will be announced in the near future.
